You're ready to book...

So a couple of things have happened and you're ready to book your baby's newborn session: 1) You've found out you're pregnant and have confirmed the baby's gender, 2) You just had baby and keep seeing posts with these adorable babies or 3)You're in the hospital, and the photographer just came in to take your baby's first pictures but of course you just didn't want those pictures. So, you reach and get information and decide to book that session with Blessed Events LLC. Well, here's what you need to know to prepare.

Time For Your Session

I like to schedule newborn sessions for babies are 7-21 days new. During this time they tend to be still bendable (wait is that even a word?) and curly (fetal position). I like to have babies come in first thing in the morning because more often than not, they like to get their sleep in the morning, so they'll sleep through the majority of their session if not all. This also gives you a chance to nurse/feed baby as soon as you get here, just in case they need to be topped off. If you're doing family pictures with siblings, I will try to do those first so that we can get the siblings to leave with dad, grandparent or other family member so as the focus can remain on baby. The scheduled amount of time for your baby's session is 3 hours, but that all depends on your baby. If they sleep during the entire session, it may only take an hour and 30 minutes to complete.

I tell parents to bring snacks, for yourself, especially if you're nursing. When packing your diaper bag, make sure you come with an easy outfit to dress baby back in once your session is over, diapers, wipes, receiving blankets, bottles and formula. If your baby takes a pacifier, make sure to bring that with you to help soothe baby. I will stop to allow baby to be fed, cuddled or changed if it seems they can't be comforted. I will do my best to try to offer a variety of poses and looks for your baby, but I will definitely follow their lead on what works for them.

When Will Pictures Be ready?

So depending on how busy the studio is, your images may be ready for viewing 1-2 weeks after your session. So before you leave the studio, we will schedule an appointment for you to come back to the studio for your ordering session. No money is due until your ordering session.

When you come back to the studio for your ordering session, I'll pull all your images up on the TV for you to see. At this point, we will discuss all your options, discuss each collection more in-depth as well as products available. You'll choose your birth announcements. If you're ordering wall art, we'll discuss the materials you can choose...the types of albums that are available and gift prints. Once you've decided on a collection, payment will be collected at that time.

When will my order come back? Great question.... So ultimately, that depends on what you choose to purchase. Some of the artwork and albums come all the way from Italy so, it may take up to an additional 2 weeks. But once your order has arrived here at the studio, I will contact you and let you know everything is ready for pickup.
